How to create and publish website with FrontPage 2002?

1. The first step is to create new blank Web in FrontPage. Start FrontPage and select File >> New >> Page or Web

2. The "New Page or Web" screen will appear on the right side of your screen. Select "Empty Web".

3. Select "Empty Web" and then select the folder in which your Web will be saved on your computer. The folder has to be specified in the "Specify the location of the new web" field.

4. You have just created a blank Web. The next step will be to create the main page of your Web. Select File >> New >> Page or Web... The "New Page or Web" screen will appear on the right side of your screen. Select "Empty Web" (look at the picture at step two). Select "Blank Page".

5. Enter some text in the new page.

6. Select File >> Save As...

7. Enter the name of the page. The main page of your website has to be named index.htm

8. Now your page is saved as index.htm and you are ready to publish it to your website. Select File >> Publish Web...

9. Enter http://your_website and then press [OK].

10. The publish web screen will appear. On the left side you will see the files on your local computer. On the right side you will see the files that have been published already. Please, notice that folders beginning with underscore (example: _private) are created by FrontPage and you do not have to delete or modify them. When you are ready to upload, press the [Publish] button.

11. If the publishing is successful the following screen will appear. Please, click on the "Click here to view your publish log file" link to view detailed results of the publishing process. Thank you.
