We offer FTP access to your account which you can use to manage your site (upload and download files, change permissions of CGI apps and folders, etc).
You can also use FTP to download the log files of the web server for your site and other system information.
We do not offer anonymous (public) FTP access which some sites use in their download areas. If your site has a download area where visitors need to download files from your site you should use the HTTP protocol instead. If you're not sure how to set this up or need further information about the matter please contact our support service.
In order to use FTP you will need an FTP client program. Such software is already included in virtually all operating systems in use today. Usually the program you use to access your local hard drive (e.g. Windows Explorer in Microsoft Windows systems) supports the FTP protocol and can browse and copy files to/from FTP sites as well. Also many HTML authoring tools include an integrated FTP client so you can upload your site conveniently from the environment you use to create your web.
You may, however, find more powerful FTP clients than the one included in your operating system on the Internet which can save you lots of time, for example by uploading to the server only the modified files in your site instead of your entire site.
